NEXT NET 9 AM EDT SATURDAY AUG 9, 2008  The scorecard is complete for the net of August 2nd.  A New Record was established today showing that we had 109 log entries for the session.  The only other two that have come close to this total were 102 on January 5th, and 104 on June 21st.  We had 16 states including Alaska on board with 6 countries that included Russia, Scotland, United Kingdom, Australia, Germany and the United States.  There was a 75% contribution from those coming into the net via RF with 30 stations consisting of Links, Repeaters, and IRLP Nodes making this happen.  We gained 14 new members today.  In the awards determination for today it must first be said that the operating policies for this net dictate that after a station has successfully been awarded and award for a specific category two times in the current year he or she will be elevated to a position of honor and prime recognition for their accomplishments.  For the balance of the year those stations placed in this elevated state will no longer be placed in the running within this category to allow others to gain this elite posture.  With this said the awards recognition for this session goes to:  Slav UA3QGN in Russia for today’s DX.  Continental distance goes to Hugh N7WTG in Arizona.  The uniqueness award for this session goes to George AC5JV for his long distance 2 Mtr contact from Salina Oklahoma to Eureka Kansas a distance of about 150 miles prior to being funneled to the Michigan Server in Grand Rapids.  RF top contribution for this session goes to AF4CN-R.  Congratulation to all.  Birthday wishes were passed to:  Mike KC8RGV, Nancy KC8ZWN, and Dick KJ4DPO.  Note: the availability of a complete user list at http://michigan.ath.cx/users  Download or update Echolink at: www.echolink.org  IRLP information may be found at www.IRLP.net ----- Send questions and comments to voip@southcars.com  IRLP connects for this net are through Reflector 9617 and Echolink connects are through *MICHIGAN*.
